RecordLink export
At Snape Wood we are really proud of our green credentials and have our own ‘Good to be Green’ rules. In the school office we scan all of our documents to SIMS so that we can access and share them securely and without further printing. When it comes to transferring student documents to their secondary schools I use RecordLink export.
In the old days I’d spend at least a day sorting through Year 6 paper files. From 2018, and with our move to using electronic documents in SIMS, I sort the Leavers by their destination with one click in RLex and then set it off to compile a single export for that Secondary school. The password protected folder is then transferred to the Secondary using S2S.
Just in this instance of transferring files to Secondary Schools I save around a day of time, then we save the actual cost of postage and all those envelopes and files. By sharing the password for the transferred files separately we are also certain of the safety and security of the very personal data in the files. And no Secondary has ever thanked us for sending them paper files!
